Description
The successful candidate will work in a project aiming to understand the host/pathogen interactions occurring at the time of the initiation of T cell immunity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In particular the mechanisms regulating dendritic cell migration during infection. In this context he or she will conduct experiments in a BSL3 animal facility and make use of several techniques such as flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and multi photon microscopy. A strong background in Immunology or Microbiology and in animal work is required. Experience in microscopy is appreciated but not required. Applicants who do not meet this requirement will not be considered at any level of the review process. The successful applicant will join Ｏne of the top places for mycobacterial research in Europe, located in Toulouse, recently ranked number Ｏne city in France for its quality of life. Our department encompasses about 50 scientists, including 20 national and international postdoctoral fellows and PhD students, dispatched into 5 research groups working Ｏn biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology and immunology of mycobacterial infections. In this environment, the successful applicant will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment for conducing his/her research project, including cat.3 lab and animal facility, and imaging, genomic and proteomic platforms. Our team is young, very dynamic and has been recently awarded a Chair d’Excellence Grant by the National Agency for Research in France. The salary for this postdoctoral fellowship is for 2 years but the successful candidate will be strongly encouraged to obtain his own scholarship by applying to French and International funding organizations.
