A post-doctoral position is available to work Ｏn the regulation of perennial growth habit in Arabis alpina. The candidate will join the group of Maria Albani located at the Max Planck Institute of Plant Breeding Research in Cologne (www.mpipz.mpg.de). The position is offered in the context of the German Excellence Initiative CEPLAS which promotes outstanding research at German universities (www.ceplas.eu). CEPLAS is a joint effort of University of Cologne, HHU Düsseldorf, Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research and Forschungszentrum Jülich.
The position is available for two years according to the German civil servant pay scale TV-L E13 with appropriate prerequisites.
Research project
Plants have evolved into either annual or perennial life forms. Annual plants complete their life cycle within Ｏne year and die after flowering whereas perennials are able to live for many years by maintaining vegetative growth from Ｏne year to the next. We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate with strong interests in plant developmental biology. A background in molecular biology and genetics, and good experimental and communicative skills are required. Experience with ChIP and microscopy will be considered as a plus.
