Summary:
This is an opportunity for an experienced MRI physicist to work in the Pulmonary MRI Research Group at the University of Sheffield. Significant technological development work has been undertaken to establish this group as a world centre in this emergent branch of diagnostic pulmonary imaging with proton and hyperpolarised gas MRI

The group consists of physicists, engineers and clinicians working Ｏn the development and clinical evaluation of lung MR imaging techniques, our range of research is outlined at http://www.shef.ac.uk/polaris

This post will involve implementation of novel lung imaging techniques Ｏn 3T and 1.5T whole body MRI systems for 129Xe, 3He and 1H lung MRI. You should have a PhD in MRI Physics/Engineering (or have equivalent industrial experience) with additional post-doctoral or equivalent MR industrial experience and preferably have a strong published track record in pulse sequence development, gas hyper-polarisation physics or RF coil engineering.

These posts are fixed-term for 2 years with a start date of 3 March 2014 (or as soon as possible thereafter).
