Grade 7: £29,837 - £36,661 with a discretionary range to £40,046 p.a.

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work with the Oxford Dementia Research Team, a newly established team conducting translational research ranging from mechanisms to drug development and from discovery to qualification of molecular and imaging biomarkers in both Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease and in related dementia disorders

The post is funded by the Medical Research Council and is based at the University Department of Psychiatry, at the Warneford Hospital and is funded for 3 years.

You will join a newly established team focussed Ｏn understanding the molecular pathology of Alzheimer’s disease and turning this understanding into a robust drug development programme designed to identify therapeutics for disease modification http://www.mrc.ac.uk/Newspublications/News/MRC009237.

Working closely with the team you further develop our understanding of the pathway and establish assays for screening purposes and biomarkers for trials utility.

You will have a PhD in a relevant area along with a research background in dementia/neurodegeneration or neuroscience, and cell and molecular sciences. Previous research experience in statistics/data analysis would be an advantage.
