The Disney Laboratory at The Scripps Research Institute is seeking highly qualified postdoctoral candidates to work in the field of RNA Chemical Biology. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of publication and extensive experience in the areas of chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, nucleic acids, and/or RNA structural biology. The specific focus of the open positions is to identify and optimize small molecules that modulate the function of RNAs associated with disease (Rzuczek et al. ACS Chem. Biol. (2013), 8(10), 2312; Velagapudi et al. Nature Chemical Biology, in press) and in the further development of an RNA motif-small molecule database that can be used to design bioactive small molecules targeting RNA (Velagapudi et al. J. Am. Chem. Soc. (2011), 133, 10111; Tran and Disney Nature Communications (2012), 3, 1125.). Preference will be given to candidates with proven expertise in nucleic acids or in the design and construction of small molecule libraries.
