We are seeking highly motivated individuals for a postdoctoral position in the Department of Biological Chemistry; Center for metabolism and Obesity Research at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Our laboratory is interested in understanding the metabolic properties of neurons and glia at a mechanistic level in vivo. We are particularly interested in defining how the nervous system regulates fatty acid metabolism in normal and pathogenic states including diabetes/obesity, Epilepsy and other neurodegenerative disorders. We are currently exploring the roles of several enigmatic brain-specific enzymes as well as defining novel roles of canonical metabolic pathways.
