The Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion in Mülheim an der Ruhr has been reestablished in 2012 and the field of research has been aligned with the conversion of energy. Our scientists are engaged in basic processes that are essential within the storage and conversion of Energy.

The department ‚Molecular Theory and Spectroscopy’ is presently looking for candidates for two
Postdocs (f/m)
with a PhD degree in theoretical or physical chemistry.

The positions are available from January 2015, however the starting date is flexible. The positions are initially for 14 months. A prolongation is possible.

Job Description:The candidates will perform quantum chemical calculations in order to better understand bond formation and bond splitting in H2 and N2 as catalysed by catalyst molecules or proteins.
Qualifications:PhD degree in theoretical or physical chemistry. Experiences with applied computational chemistry and quantum chemical calculations are required.
