The Department of Physics is looking to appoint a post-doctoral associate fellow for 11 months to work Ｏn simulations of kinetics of growth of self-assembled monolayers of organic molecules Ｏn crystal surfaces. The post is based in the Theory and Simulations of Condensed Matter Group in the Department of Physics to work Ｏn understanding of driving mechanisms responsible for organisation of a number of organic molecules of different complexity Ｏn several crystal surfaces. The idea is to simulate, using a toolbox of methods based Ｏn density functional theory (DFT) and rare events simulations, nucleation and kinetics of growth of self-assembled structures in order to provide the necessary guidance to experimentalists in forming desired assemblies.
