Postdoctoral Research Scientist - Tumour Immunology : Oxford, United Kingdom

Salary: Grade 7: £30,738 - £37,768 p.a.

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist – Tumour Immunology to work Ｏn the development of a new cancer vaccine platform based Ｏn recombinant viruses and to target Ｏncogenic mutations for tumour immunotherapy.

The cancer vaccine project is based Ｏn a prime-boost approach developed at the nearby Jenner Institute for vaccines against malaria, HIV or tuberculosis. The research programme will initially focus Ｏn preclinical work devised to apply this vaccine platform to cancer antigens of the MAGE type and to optimize it, in order to subsequently launch a clinical trial in cancer patients. Also, in collaboration of Professor Xin Lu’s laboratory, we aim to identify neoepitopes from mutant p53 and other Ｏncogenic mutations in solid tumours such as oesophageal and ovarian cancer. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Tumour Immunology to work Ｏn these projects. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.

You will be educated to PhD degree level in molecular biology/immunology (or equivalent) or be near to completion and you will have an active interest in undertaking scientific research, together with the ability to organise your work time efficiently.

The research involves a wide range of classical molecular and cellular techniques related to cellular immunology, including T cell assays (cytokine production, lysis, proliferation), flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISpot and T cell cultures. Experience with these techniques and familiarity with in vivo rodent work are desirable.
