Postdoctoral Research Scientist
The Columbia University Radiological Research Accelerator Facility (RARAF.org) has a Postdoctoral Scientist position available. RARAF is a multidisciplinary research facility specializing in precision irradiation and analysis of biological samples using a variety of innovative radiation sources. The long term focus is understanding mechanisms of cellular radiation damage and repair.

The candidate should have a PhD in physics or engineering with an emphasis Ｏn design, construction and implementation of custom research devices. A background in ion beam optics, light microscopy or irradiation systems is preferred though not essential. The candidate must be able to work in a group/team environment consisting of physicists, engineers, and biologists while also being able to work independently. Strong communication skills are need for writing and presentation of research in a multi-disciplinary research environment.
