Postdoctoral position in Systems Biology of Stress-related mental disorders

Daskalakis Lab, in collaboration with the Ressler lab, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with a primary focus Ｏn the development and application of integrative systems biology and/or machine learning approaches to understand the multi-omic contributions to susceptibility and resilience toPTSDand other stress-related mental disorders. The fellow will take advantage of large sets of genomic, proteomic, neuroimaging, physiology, behavior, self-report and digital health data derived from a wide-variety of translational stress studies in the Division of Depression and Anxiety Disorders. Current projects also include multi-cohort analyses conducted within the Psychiatric Genomic Consortium forPTSD(PGC-PTSD), and thePGC-PTSDSystems Biology Working group. The fellow will be mentored by Drs. Nikolaos Daskalakis, MD PhD, and Kerry Ressler, MD PhD, and have access to the McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School academic environment and resources. The successful candidate will be proposed for academic appointment as a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

We are looking for a PhD or MD/PhD data scientist with expertise in computational biology, bioinformatics, statistical genetics or machine learning to work full-time Ｏn the development and implementation of computational models, and their interpretation. A successful candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic about understanding the neurobiology of psychiatric disorders.
Preferred is a candidate with the following attributes:
1) A strong background in programming, in particular R, Python, andUNIXshell sc
2) Previous experience with the development of software (e.g., R-packages) is preferred;
3) Experience with high performance computing and cloud computing;
4) Self-starter with excellent problem-solving, communication, organizational and creative skills;
5) Experience with multi-omic data analyses; experience in neuroimaging is a plus.
