Duties:
The position involves conducting and developing research within the subject area. The two main research projects the post-doc will be involved in are 1) New management protocols for management of dairy cows and their calves in early lactation and 2) Possibilities to use LED light for lactating dairy cows. The work will require deep knowledge and interest in physiology and management with focus On me
Qualifications:
Eligible for employment are candidates with a master degree in animal science, veterinary medicine or biology and a PhD degree in animal science or veterinary medicine with focus On physiology and animal management with documented competence On management of lactating production animals. You must have experience of experimental planning and of managing multidisciplinary research projects. It is also important that you have hands-on experience of handling large production animals. Previous work that includes both physiology and activity or behaviour measures as well as practical work in research herds are merits for the position.
You should have good oral and written skills in English language and be prepared to use Swedish for the experimental work in the research barn and in contacts with commercial farms. You also need to be able to accommodate uneven work hours during intense experimental periods.
