The Policy & Research Group (PRG) invites applications for a One-year Applied Research Fellow position. The Fellow will assist with research and prepare written analysis under the direction of senior research staff. The focus of the work will be three recently completed RCTs examining the effectiveness of innovative teen pregnancy prevention interventions. The Fellow will draft manusc
Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree or near completion (ABD may be considered);
• Aptitude and training and/or experience in data management and quantitative analysis;
• Proficiency in Stata;
• Strong writing, analytic, and critical thinking skills;
• Strong communication and organizational skills;
• Interest in applied research;
• Self-motivated, able to bring projects to completion;
• Willing to learn;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Commitment to PRG’s mission: to improve the potential of people through scientifically rigorous research and evaluation that informs policy and practice.
Benefits: The Fellow will receive the same benefits as full-time PRG staff:
• Three weeks paid vacation per year; four weeks paid vacation after five years of employment at PRG
• Approximately fifteen paid holidays (this includes an end-of-the-year break where the office is closed between Christmas and New Year’s Day);
• Medical, dental, vision, and supplemental group plans offered; employer pays employee dental and vision premiums and portion of employee medical premiums;
• After two years of employment, employees are eligible for a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with employer match.
Position /Location:
The Fellow is a full-time position (it is expected that PRG will be your Only employer). PRG has offices in Seattle and New Orleans, but will consider remote working from any location in the U.S. for this position. Currently (Spring 2020), all PRG employees are working from home due to COVID-19.
Position Start Date: The anticipated start date is June 1, 2020, with the possibility of extending for an additional year subject to a funding contingency.
