一、论坛简介
华中科技大学于2012年创办了国际青年学者东湖论坛（以下简称东湖论坛），至今已成功举办六届，共邀请到来自30多个国家和地区的1200余名优秀青年学者来校参会。
东湖论坛旨在为海内外不同学科领域的青年才俊搭建一个学术交流平台。通过专题报告、学术研讨和人才洽谈等形式，共同探讨国际科技前沿话题，追踪学术热点问题，开拓学术视野，启迪学术灵感，促进交流合作，引进各学科海内外优秀青年人才。
二、学科领域
此次东湖论坛共设数学、物理、化学、环境与地球科学、信息科学、工程科学、材料科学、生命科学、医学以及人文社会科学等10个学科领域的分论坛，诚邀海内外优秀青年学者报名参会。
三、申请条件
年龄在40岁以下；具有海外知名大学博士学位；或者具有国内知名大学博士学位，并有连续3年以上在海外知名高校、科研机构、知名企业研发机构等从事科研工作的经历；在自然科学与工程技术、经济管理与人文社科等领域取得一定成绩或具有良好发展潜力的优秀青年人才。
四、申请流程
（一）报名：符合条件的海内外青年学者于11月20日前，使用网上报名系统进行注册并填写相关信息。网址：http://eastlakeforum.hust.edu.cn/。
（二）邀请：受邀学者将于11月30日前收到主办单位的邀请函，请及时查收报名系统登记的邮箱。
（三）回执：受邀者须于收到邀请函一周内填写回执并确认是否参会。
五、日程安排
12月25日全天 报到；
12月26日上午 论坛开幕式和大会报告；
12月26日下午、27日全天 分论坛活动、实验室参观交流；
12月28日全天 离会。
六、差旅及住宿
主办单位为每位受邀参会学者提供往返差旅经费，实报实销（限经济舱），论坛期间食宿由主办单位统一安排。

1. About the Forum
The East Lake International Forum for Outstanding Overseas Young Scholars (East Lake Forum) was founded in 2012 and has invited about 1200 scholars from over 30 countries and regions to attend. The forum covers a wide range of disciplines including mathematics, physics, chemistry, environment and earth science, information science, engineering science, material science, bioscience, humanities, medicine and social sciences. The Forum aims at gathering outstanding young scientists and technologists all over the world to interact and discuss emerging frontiers in science and technology. Through presentations and discussions, the forum will foster cross-disciplinary exchange and cooperation among the meeting participants in emerging scientific and technological fields and contribute to sustainable development.
2. Requirements for applicants
♦Under 40 years old as of December 31, 2018
♦Holding a doctoral degree with at least 3-year overseas working experience
♦Having shown innovation and potentials in your area of focus (science, engineering, economics, management, humanities and social sciences etc.)
3. Deadline for application
Submit the application form via the website (eastlakeforum.hust.edu.cn) by November 20, 2018. Qualified applicants will receive feedback by November 30, 2018.
