PROJECT Manager (Preclinical/Clinical Phase development) •Exciting opportunity to be part of a New Biotechnology Company operatingin Melbourne, Australia ( Parkville precinct ) •Developing new medicines for chronic inflammatory and fibrotic diseases •Full time position •Competitive salary package The Opportunity No.1 Biotech is seeking an experienced Project Manager who will, together with the Executive and the Research Team, manage the development of the No.1 Biotech Technology from formal preclinical GLP toxicology and Safety through to clinical phase development by delivery of specific project milestones. The No.1 Biotech technology comprises projects sourced from University of Melbourne researchers. Success as a Project Manager will be driven through international pre-clinical ‘hands-on’ drug development experience, scientific expertise, personal initiative and excellent academic and CRO interactions that will enable the On-going development and management of the drug development project plan. The Project Manager will have industry experience in managing new drug and therapeutic discovery and development activities, including responsibility for key relationship management and initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and completion of projects. The incumbent will have experience in the discovery and development of small molecules, preferably across a range of disease areas, especially in fibrosis and inflammatory conditions. The Role The core responsibilities will be: •To ensure delivery of agreed activities with the Managing Director, Chief Scientific Officer, Consultants and CROs and in accordance with the stated budget and timeframes, and •To build highly effective relationships with researchers and industry. The Project Manager will work together with the Executive and Project Leadership Team, to manage the development of the No.1 Biotech technology through oversight and delivery of specific project milestones. To be successful The Project Manager will: •manage projects that aim to ultimately result in preventative interventions, cures and treatments for important diseases and •integrate efforts of researchers from academia and small/medium sized enterprises (SME) as well as CROsto translate discoveries for impact On human health. Achievement of these goals will require the Project Manager to have high level interpersonal and communication skills, personal initiative, international pre-clinical drug development experience, proven project management skills, scientific credibility, relevant industry experience (i.e. therapeutic development) and be able to work highly collaboratively as part of a team.
